FAQs

Gemstones

    • Gem sourcing can take anywhere from a few days to a month, it depends on how uncommon the combo of shape, size, color and clarity the client is desiring in a specific gemstone.

  • Diamonds and gemstones often are sent to a gemological laboratory for identification of things like treatments or a stone’s origin. These are most important for stones like ruby, sapphire, or emerald over 1 carat in size because the info on the report may determine value.

It can also be helpful in the appraisal process.

  • Stones of notable size and quality will most likely come with a report.

If you desire a GIA report with your stone, we are happy to get one! GIA stone reports have a minimum of 4 weeks turnaround most of the time.
